Are you ready for Euphorbia? Every garden should have one

Diverse, delightful and an absolute must have in any garden design.  From 2m tall to a little ground hugging options Euphorbia really is the plant that keeps on giving.

Ideal for dry soils, pretty much drought resistant, excellent for insects and a blaze of colours whether in the foliage or the colourful bracts Euphorbia are just excellent for providing colour in the border alongside shrubs and perennials.  They are practically pest and disease free making them an ideal low maintenance plant (yes – they do exist!).

All of the Euphorbia selected below are evergreen.  Go on, what’s holding you back?

Euphorbia amygdaloides robbiae.  A perfect plant for dry shade and evergreen to boot.  Acid yellow colourful bracts in the spring and summer are held on stems at about 50cm in height.

Euphorbia characias Silver Edge.  Another evergreen option with grey leaves edged with white margins with pale yellow-green bracts in spring – summer on stems about 60cm in height.

Euphorbia characias wulfenii.  Upright in habit with evergreen grey - green leaves and acid yellow bracts in spring – summer on stems of 120cm in height.

Euphorbia x martini Ascot Rainbow.  A bit of a show stopper this one with evergreen multi-coloured leaves.  Grey green leaves are flushed pink with pale yellow margins with more drama to come in the autumn when the entire leaf becomes flushed pink, red and orange.  Yellow green bracts in spring and summer on stems of 50cm in height.
