Masterwart ?Claret?. Hattie?s Pincushion. Herbaceous perennial noted for long lasting flower heads. One of the darker Astrantias with black stems and dark green deeply lobed leaves. The flowers are deep, rich, ruby-red in colour and are pincushion-like and papery in form. The flowers are borne in profusion from June to August. Delicate looking plant yet hardy in nature. This clump forming perennial is a delight when planted in dappled woodland shade or in contemporary planting. Plant in full sun to partial shade. Does well in woodland and dappled shade. Height 50cm. Spread 30cm. Plant in moist fertile soil.
