Japanese Azalea, Rhododendron 'Geisha Purple' Azalea 'Geisha Purple' is a compact, evergreen shrub with small, hairy, evergreen leaves and this variety provides a spectacular show in late Spring when the foliage is almost hidden by masses of purple vibrant blooms. The reddish-purple funnel-shaped flowers are produced in profusion for a superb display. Ideal for the front of shaded borders or use as a container plant. Azaleas have a shallow root system; it is essential not to plant them too deep, otherwise the root ball will sink and settle to deep. Prefers light shade or sun. Ideal in a woodland situation or in containers in the shade. Height and spread 0.5 x 0.5 metres mound forming habit. An ericaceous plant requiring well drained, light and acid soil. Mulch annually with leaf mould to help protect roots from drying out.
