Short description

Bottlebrush An evergreen, rounded shrub noted for its masses of bottlebrush like clusters of red flowers in cylindrical spikes throughout the summer. The flowers are in fact long stamens and not petals. The new shoots have a pink tinge turning to rich dark green lance-shaped leaves. Looks great in containers and hot or Mediterranean style gardens. A valuable low maintenance shrub with a long flowering period. Prefers full sun in a sheltered spot, height and spread 2 metres x 2 metres. Well drained neutral to acid fertile soil, Not suitable for shallow chalky soils.
