CLEMATIS 'Doctor Ruppel'

Short description

Clematis 'Doctor Ruppel' Produces striking deep rose-pink single flowers each with darker central bars and light chocolate anthers. the large flowers are 10 to 15cm across and are freely produced over a long period, with the main flush in late spring and early summer. To encourage blooms over the whole of the plant then train the stems evenly on the support as new growth appears in mid-spring. Prefers full sun or partial shade, Height and spread 5 metres x 2 metres. Plant in Fertile, well-drained, neutral soil. To keep roots cool you can plant amongst low growing shrubs. If planting in containers, ensure the pot is large enough to ensure roots are not restricted too much. Apply a thick mulch to the soil above the roots and ideally a slow-release balanced fertiliser. Prune in March April. Cut back hard to a pair of strong buds about 15-20cm above ground-level.
