Acer campestre 'Carnival'
Description: A variegated form of the common field maple with attractive leaves which are boldly margined with white and pinkish growing tips in spring. Can be grown as a distinctive shrub or a small tree which would be ideal for small gardens. Remains beautiful throughout summer.
Climate/Position: Well lit site to maintain strong variegation.
Height/Spread: Small tree up to 4 metres.
Soil Requirements: Best in rich well drained soils but any soil types and very tolerant.
Pruning: Can be pruned hard in winter to increase leaf size for a more dramatic effect.
