Aster lateriflorus var. Horizontalis'
Description: A delightful Aster with tiers of tiny white and pale purple flowerheads with rose-pink centres which are produced en mass. This delicate plant flowers from mid-summer to mid-autumn brightening the border when other plants can look a little tired. Strong horizontal branching stems with foliage that is dark green and tinged purple.
Attracts butterflies and does not suffer from mildew as other Asters can. Good in mixed borders, wildlife gardens and infact most garden situations.
Climate / Position: Sun to partial shade.
Height / Spread: Height 60 to 100cm. Spread 30-45cm.
Soil Requirements: Moist, moderately fertile soil.
Pruning: Cut back late in the autumn.
Special Requirements: Mulch after pruning.
