Digitalis 'Spice Island'
Description: A recent introduction with improved characteristics as a longer lived perennial and also multi stemmed and repeat flowering unlike other Digitalis with flowers produced from May until October. The glossy, dark green basal leaves and tall, upright spikes of unusual copper-yellow bell-shaped flowers with cinnamon colouring inside the bell.
Uses: Good planted along a woodland edge or in any mixed border or cottage garden style planting.
Climate/Position: Full sun to partial shade
Height/Spread: 1.2 metres x 60cm
Soil Requirements: Any average soil conditions. Humus rich soil gives best results
Pruning: Remove flower spikes after flowering to encourage further flush of flowers.
Special Requirements: This is a sterile plant and so will not self seed.
