Description:

A vigorous fast growing evergreen climber with wiry stems and exotic orange/red tubular flowers throughout summer and autumn. Unusual bi-pinnate leaves which end in a tendril which the plant uses to climb around other plants/frame for climbing.

Can be planted as a climber on its own or planted to scramble through other evergreen plants.

Climate/Position: Full sun in a sheltered /protected site for overwintering.

Height/Spread: 3 metres

Soil Requirements: Light well drained soil.

Pruning: After overwintering stems which have died back can be cut to near the base. Evergreen shoots may be left or cut back.

Special Requirements:

Though not fully hardy in mild regions they usually survive winter - dying down to the base and reappearing stronger the following year.
