Elaeagnus pungens 'Hosuba-fukurin'
Description: A recent introduction of evergreen Elaeagnus noted for its narrow dark green pointed leaves with dainty cream margins which is different to many variegated Elaegnus because it has solid green coloration with irregularly margins rather than mixed variegation. The insignificant flowers in late summer are small but beautifully scented.
A tough plant which provides year round interest. An upright and dense growth habit makes this cultivar ideal as a specimen plant and also an excellent hedging plant.

Height/Spread: Up to 2.5 x 2 metres
Soil Requirements: Will do well in most soils.
Pruning: If trimming required then prune after frosts in spring.
Special Requirements: Tolerant of salt spray - foliage protected by gritty deposit with prevents damage.
