Exochorda x macrantha ‘The Bride’
Description: A beautiful deciduous arching shrub with an abundance of pure white flowers in late spring to early summer held against pale green foliage. Well suited for a sunny spot and will happily grow against a sunny wall. Once mature there is the added bonus of string autumn foliage colour.
Much more compact than the hybrid x macrantha.
Climate / Position: Prefers full sun to dappled shade.
Height / Spread: Height 2.5m. Spread 2.5m.
Soil Requirements: Will tolerate most soils except shallow, chalky soil.
Pruning : Prune flowering shoots back to strong buds after flowering.
Special Requirements: Prune immediately after flowering for best results in the following year.
The common name Pearl Bush is derived from the opening flower buds said to resemble a string of pearls.
