Ilex aquifolium 'Argentea Marginata'
Description: This ever popular variegated evergreen holly can be grown as a large shrub or even trained as a single stem small tree. Attractive glossy green leaves each with a silver margin always look fresh throughout year and which are interspersed with beautiful red berries in the autumn especially if planted in groups. Also good as a prickly and impenetrable hedge. This is a particularly good form, very hardy, reliable and useful in many situations.
Climate/Position: Suitable for sun or shade.
Height/Spread: up to 7 metres as a tree or can be kept to 1.5 m as a hedge.
Soil Requirements: tolerant of most soils.
Pruning: Hedges best trimmed in April, trees needed shaping prune in July/Aug
