Kirengeshoma palmata
Description: A clump forming perennial with arching reddish, purple stems with pale green leaves palmate in shape. The heavy, nodding, pale yellow flowers with pointed tips are produced in late summer and early autumn. The beauty of this woodland gem is that it flowers later than most woodland plants.
A magnificent plant for woodland borders, gently arching and moves well too! Contrasts well when planted with Hydrangeas and Tricyrtis.
Climate / Position: Partial shade – full shade. Prefers a sheltered site.
Height / Spread: Height 60 – 120cm. Spread 30cm.
Soil Requirements: Moist, deep, leafy, humus rich soil.
Pruning : Cut back stems in the winter.
Special Requirements: Enrich the soil with well rotted organic matter in winter and mulch.
