Kniphofia 'Minister Verschuur'
Description: A very good yellow form of Red Hot Poker which is not red! Instead it has striking rich clear yellow flowers and upright architectural habit. Its long flowering period from the end of spring until September gives excellent value.
Uses: Very good for use in sunny borders, courtyard gardens and coastal/seaside areas. Pretty when combined with blue flowers such as Agapanthus.
Climate/Position: Requires full sun. High drought tolerance.
Height/Spread: 80cm x 40cm
Soil Requirements: Must have well drained soils especially in winter.
Pruning: Remove flower spikes after flowering. remove dead leaves in autumn winter to tidy the plant before spring.

Additional Interest: Kniphofias originate in the mountains throughout southern Africa. Many new introductions now give a range of colours, sizes and flowering period for garden use.
