Lespedeza thunbergii
Description: A sub shrub worth growing for its mass of rich purple-pink pea like flowers which are produced in early autumn. The arching stems covered in flowers provide excellent late colour in the garden.
Blue green foliage throughout summer.
Good for use in mixed borders or can be used as an informal hedge.
Climate/Position: Full sun
Height/Spread: 2 metres x 3metres
Soil Requirements: Well drained fertile soil.
Pruning: Can be left unpruned. Otherwise, older shoots can be removed at ground level in spring. For complete regeneration the the plant can be cut to ground level for regeneration.
