Liquidambar styraciflua PANEL
Description: Deciduous with slightly glossy, maple-like leaves which turn to stunning shades of orange, crimson and purple in autumn. Young stems have a corky bark.
Uses: Supplied here trained against a panel. This cultivar is ideal for hedging and screening or as a specimen plant.
Climate/Position: Grown in full sun the plants will colour the best.
Height/Spread: Dependant on frame height and pruning regime.
Soil Requirements: Moist, well-drained, acidic to neutral soil will ensure the plants colour best in the autumn.
Pruning: If required, prune in late autumn or winter.
Special Requirements: Dislikes chalky soils.
Additional Interest: The sweet gum are so called because of the sweet smell to the leaves when crushed.
