A compact, rounded male Skimmia reaching a height and spread of 60cm in all, Skimmia jap Finchy has cream buds held tightly throughout the winter months that start to open in the warmer weather to reveal small star-shaped, fragrant, creamy-white flowers.
The leaves are dark green in colour and highly glossy in appearance. With the creamy white buds, Finchy makes a handsome bed fellow for the more well-known Skimmia jap. Rubella that is more widely used.
As with all Skimmia, they will thrive in full sun to partial shade in a humus rich acidic soil.
