Don’t forget to wrap up warm this winter. As well as yourself don’t forget some of the more exotic plants that may need a little extra help to get through the harsh winter frosts.
The trick to wrapping up exotic plants is to use a product that still allows free air flow and light through. This will reduce any likelihood of frost actually settling on the growing tips of tender plants.
Frost fleece is the best material to use to protect plants. The fleece comes in different densities. The heavier the density – the better the frost protection. Frost fleece should be put in place at the first sign of frost, but if you have not already done so it is not too late.
Dicksonia antartica benefit from a wrapping of frost fleece to keep the worst of the frost off the growing crown. Be sure to keep some air gaps around the crown to allow air movement.
We have 2 different densities of Frost Fleece in stock:
1m width / 16m length £4.75 (17g / m2)
1m width / 16m length £4.75 (40g / m2) – 50% free too
As Fleece does not allow for the most interesting of images – I have put in an image of a Dicksonia antartica instead!
