We’ve been shopping again and have brought in some really excellent new plants. New varieties to us at Provender Nurseries and we are just a bit excited – we hope you are too.
We have some stunning new Cornus for your delight and pleasure:
Cornus florida urbiniana. If you like the weird and wonderful then this is the Cornus for you. This delightful shrub forms a large shrub to small tree with blue-green foliage. The delight of this plant however is in the unusual curved white bracts that appear in April to May. The bracts are pure white and curve back on themselves fusing at the base.
Cornus Shira Yuki. This lovely Cornus has variegated pale green leaves and white bracts in June. Reaching 1- 1.5m in height this is an excellent choice for the smaller garden. Fabulous autumn leaf colour.
Cornus Summer Flair. Grey-green variegated foliage with cream margins that take on a lovely dusky pink hue in the autumn. Showy white bracts in the spring. Reaching 2m in height this is another great choice for a smaller garden.
Osmanthus ‘Perfume of Nature’. This new introduction has bundles of strong, sweetly scented clusters of white flowers produced in large numbers in April – May.
