Prunus lusitanica ‘Myrtifolia’ is a small leaved form of Portuguese laurel. It is the ideal hedging plant as it is compact, hardy and super easy to prune. Prunus lusitanica ‘Myrtifolia’ has small, white, slightly fragrant flowers in the early summer which are often followed by red fruits that will eventually turn a dark shade of purple.
This hedging plant is not fussy. Myrtifolia will tolerate any soil type and PH (except from shallow chalk and very waterlogged soils) and likes full sun to partial shade.
