Prunus lusitanica 'Brenelia'

Prunus lusitanica 'Brenelia'

An update on Portuguese Laurel, 'Brenelia' is still relatively new to the market and is an absolute dream of a plant.

Easy to grow, easy to prune to shape if required, easy in terms of soil and position - taking everything except waterlogged soils and deep shade.

This improved version has brightly coloured stems, almost the colour of deep red wine with glossy, evergreen leaves with elegant wavy margins.

'Brenelia' has a tidy, uniform, almost pyramidal form with dense foliage cover lending itself perfectly to a variety of uses. Due to the density of the foliage, 'Brelenia' is a great choice for noise and air pollution and a brilliant option for a background plant for other plants.

'Brenelia' will reach around 3 to 4m in height and can also be used for hedging, pleached trees and topiary.
