Acer palmatum ‘Red Pygmy’ has seven narrow, finger-like foliage that is red – purple in colour. The foliage is more finely cut than most Acer palmatum and takes on shades of green, orange, yellow and red in the autumn months. Small purple flowers are produced in spring. Perfect for a small garden or decorative pot.
As the name suggests Acer palmatum ‘Red Pygmy’ is a very small growing variety reaching 1.5m in height and spread. The form is naturally slightly mounded.
