African Feather Grass is a new plant choice at Provender Nurseries and we welcome it with open arms.
Cylindrical, almost cat-tail like flower heads are held up vertically on tall stems reaching up to 1.5-1.8m high above the mound forming foliage once mature.
The flower heads are produced in the late summer and last to autumn lending themselves well when planted with Verbena bonariensis or Gaura.
The narrow leaves turn yellow in the autumn adding to the texture and colour.
Plant in a sunny position in well drained soil. Cut back in the spring.
