Not sure about you, but every time I see this plant name I Sweet Annabelle to the tune of Sweet Caroline in my head!
Anyway, enough Neil Diamond for now! On to Hydrangea Sweet Annabelle which, as with all Annabelle Hydrangeas has sturdy strong stems and large flowerheads.
The buds are deep pink in colour and held for a long period of time. As the flowers open the backs of the petals are rich raspberry in colour accentuate the paler inner surface of the petal creating a contrast. As the summer months proceed the flower pales with the flowers eventually becoming almost green in colour.
Hydrangea Sweet Annabelle reaches ad good sturdy 120cm in height and spread with flowers appearing on previous and new years growth resulting in a long flowering period of July through to September.
