The Hydrangea quercifolia has large oak-like leaves that have brilliant red autumn colour and stay on, making it a valuable but often overlooked plant for winter colour.
Hydrangea quercifolia provides interest all year round – in the late summer they have globular heads of pink florets. The flowers can be left on during the winter months for added winter interest – they look great with some frost on them.
Hydrangea quercifolia likes rich, moist conditions in partial shade.
