Looking for a bit of pizazz in your late summer colour? Lagerstroemia will provide colour and drama by the bucketful in the late summer sun and well into autumn too.
Lagerstoemia are small trees / large shrubs that provide interest for many a season; the new foliage emerges hues of orange and red in the spring adding a burst of colour to the garden, in the late summer the delicate papery flowers appear in colours of either pink or red and in the winter the incredibly tactile smooth coloured bark comes into its own. The autumn foliage is also rather startling too with hues of oranges through to yellow and red.
These trees are commonly used in Europe and in the last few years have started to gain recognition in the UK too. There has been some breeding work into new varieties that create even more drama between the foliage and flowers. We think we have some cracking choices on site to choose from including standards and multi stems.
