Luma - well worth the wait

Luma - well worth the wait

Luma apiculata Glanleam Gold (Myrtus)

The late summer scent from this small flowered, small leaved shrub is a delicacy.

The leaves are small, pointed with a distinct creamy – yellow margin that take on a pink hue in colder weather.  The small white flowers with prominent stamens are freely produced from June all the way through to October.  The bark takes on a cinnamon colour and flakes once the plant reaches maturity.

Luma are slow growing by nature and patience is needed if required to fill a decent sized space, or alternatively you can always buy a bigger plant!

Happy in a sunny to semi-shaded site this dainty scented evergreen shrub will reach 3m x 3m quite happily, but it will take it’s time -we think it is worth the wait.
