Viburnum x bodnantense Charles Lamont

A versatile bushy shrub that can grow in sun, semi-shade and full shade.  Also adaptable to a wide range of soil conditions from chalk to clay and well drained to moist.  It is happier in a soil that in on the acidic to neutral side of things. 

There is something in every season that pulls you to a Charles Lamont.  Viburnum x bodnantense Charles Lamont has a long flowering period from autumn through to spring when much is bare and the scent fills the air.  Small clusters of dark pink buds open to reveal pale pink flowers held on bare stems.  The foliage is oval in shape with new foliage emerging bronze in the spring and fading to dark green in the summer. 

Upright in growth habit reaching a height of 2.5m and 1.5m spread Viburnum x bodnantense Charles Lamont lends itself well to mixed plantings and can be planted with spring flowering bulbs at the base for added extra interest early in the spring.
