Autumn is the time for spectacular autumn foliage displays.  Walking around site there are just soooooo many options to choose from that it makes the mid boggle with possibilities.

The fiery colours of autumn are always a sure-fire bet for some inspiration in the autumn colour department.  they never let you down with a final hurrah before the leaves drift off to the ground.

Some fiery temptresses are shown below

Acer palmatum Osakazuki This is one of the best Acers for autumn colour with a blaze of orange - red – crimson in the autumn.  Height 3m

Acer shirasawanum Aureum The best common name – Golden Full Moon Maple.  This delightful plant has larger leaves than most ornamental Acers with the palm shaped yellow green leaves turning golden yellow in the autumn.  Height 2- 4m.

Some of the Acers listed above look particularly effective if the lower branches are removed, forming a canopy and a stem structure to look through to views beyond.
