For some reason, it feels like we have not had Eriobotrya in stock for a while. Now, we do!
Common Loquat or Eriobotrya japonica is as hardy as they come with strapping great dark green evergreen leaves that are attractively felted brown on the underside. The upper side of the leaf also has a dusty coating when young that gradually disappears with age.
Small scented white flowers are produced in the autumn and winter which are then followed by apricot- yellow fruit (Loquat) in the spring. Flowering at this time of year Eriobotrya japonica provide valuable food for pollinators.
A must have plant in a tropical planting scheme and equally at home in an architectural scheme and suitable for small gardens.
