Skimmia are brilliant shrubs for winter interest in the tight buds that open in spring to reveal scented flowers.
The tight buds are held in panicles above the evergreen foliage and are a delight in the winter but all is yet to be revealed in the spring when the buds open to reveal lots of white scented flowers. They require an ericaceous soil and a good feed after flowering to keep in tip top health.
Ideal for borders and in containers. You will need a male and female plant to get the berries.
