Edgeworthia in flower and smelling amazing

Edgeworthia in flower are a delight to the eye and nose.  Watching the hairy tight ball of buds gradually open to a ball of fireworks of bright yellow or elegant orange-red is a real delight.

The flowers are highly scented and held in clusters on the tips of bare stems.  Native to Asia, Edgeworthia are happy dealing with frost and cold weather snaps at this time of year.

Both Edgeworthia Red Dragon and chrysantha reach 1.5m in height and spread and can be easily pruned to keep in shape or allow to free flow.

A perfect choice for winter interest gardens and borders in full sun to dappled shade in a moist, well drained soil that is slightly acidic with an added mulch in the autumn.
