Spring brings in alpines and we could not be happier. We may not be in the hills and among the alpine tundra but there is still plenty of joy to be had in these miniature marvels.
As many Alpine plants herald from colder areas, they are pretty resilient as well as pretty! Minimal maintenance requirements other than good drainage and the occasional removal of spent flowers is all that are required to keep Alpines healthy.
Many Alpine plants can be used as path edging and planted in paths as well as in traditional containers. March and April is the best time of year for planting Alpines as the soil is starting to warm up and they can settle in before the warmer summer weather takes hold.
