Pittosporum tobira Nanum is just a must have plant if you like scent.
Slow-growing, so buy the size you require or buy smaller and be patient – this lovely Pittosporum choice will reward you either way with glossy green foliage all year round and highly scented creamy-white flowers in the summer. As the flowers age they become creamy – yellow in appearance.
The glossy green leaves are held tight against the stems forming a neat mound of foliage bringing structure and form to a design with year-round appeal. The flowers are produced in clusters and are highly scented. Each mound of scented delight will reach 0.8m x 0.8m in sun to partial shade.
They lend themselves to planting in containers in sunny areas and plants look brilliant when planted solo in tall contemporary planters.
There is minimal if no pruning required and are highly drought tolerant once established. They can be quite brittle when handling so make sure you don’t pack them in too tight when loading up the van!
