A stunning plant grown for its striking variegated foliage, Aralia elata Variegata. Pretty rare and not so easy to find but hunt no more as this attractive small tree /large shrub is currently residing in the shaded glasshouse in the nursery.
The large bipinnate foliage has pale green foliage with irregularly splashed creamy-white margins. Small white flowers are freely produced in late summer to early autumn.
Known for its architectural form with spiny stems and excellent autumn foliage colour. Fully hardy with no pests or disease issues. In fact, Aralia elata Variegata are resistant to honey fungus. Little pruning required.
One for the real plant lovers out there.
