Canna conjure up holidays in tropical climates with their bold leaf colours and zingy bright flowers. Happy in containers, in the ground and planted in large groups for mass effect. Even when not in flower the leaves provide colour and drama.
Canna do like a sunny position and will benefit from an application of general purpose fertiliser when in growth to boost that lovely leaf growth to its full potential.
Canna can be kept outside all year and will benefit from a mulch in the autumn to protect against frosts.
