Up in RHS Tatton Park Show, some good news is out.
Provender Nurseries supplied and grew on some plants for Freddie Strickland Gardens at RHS Tatton Park Show for his garden ‘On Tropic’. The news received this morning is that Freddie not only received a GOLD medal for his garden but he also received the excellent accolades of RHS Young Designer of the Year and Best Constructed Show Garden. An amazing triple whammy.
Freddie selected plants on site that reflected his theme of the impact of climate change on plant choice creating a subtropical garden that would typically be found in Devon and Cornwall.
Freddie’s plant selection included some excellent foliage plants for drama and boldness: Broussonetia papyrifera Golden Shadow, Tetrapanax papyrifera, Astelia, Cyathea cooperii and mounds of Pittosporum tobira Nanum in differing sizes.
Supporting the foliage selection a range of flowering Agapanthus and Hemerocallis add interest.
Working with Matt James of Matt James Landscape and Garden Design,
We could not be happier for Freddie and his team of dedicated volunteers, sponsors and Matt James of Matt James Landscape and Design, a regular customer of Provender Nurseries that drives up from Cornwall on a regular basis.
